A really small sample of web sites looking at aspects of history that are a really useful resource, for ideas and for materials too. There are loads more and the Newport school web site will soon have some local material too that will be good to use.
www.schoolhistory.co.ukIncludes a 'walk the plank' interactive game for all pirate and high sea adventures
www.bbc.co.uk/schools - history sectionHas to be included and always has some great stuff
www.show.me.co.ukGreat site for children, try 'Dinosaur Adventure'.
www.ehs.org.ukA site for social and economic history, probably only for Yr6 and above but interesting.
www.ohs.org.ukAn oral history site, it enable voices which have been hidden from the historical record to be heard. If your class are wanting to work with families in the community this is a great tool.
